Camp with SOS

This week The Hub hosted a two day camp with youth from SOS Children’s Villages Lesotho. Thursday morning they started with a hike to the dinosaur footprints, followed by a day of Life Skills sessions. The sessions were led by Selebalo Molefe, he is the senior volunteer at The Hub and has years of experience working as a youth leader, having volunteered as a life-skills coach with Kick4Life, and as camp leader / volunteer with the Sentebale ‘Mamohato Network Clubs and Camps. He was assisted by Hub volunteers Thabo Mohloboli and Mampinane Kompi.

Thursday evening they had a film screening at Ha Matela Youth Centre, and started Friday with a Life Skills session where they discussed youth participation. It was followed by an animation workshop at Morija Arts Centre with Patrick Kevin Rorke. In less than 3 hours, the group had made a short animation film and were sharing it on WhatsApp.

Special thanks to SOS Children’s Villages Lesotho for letting us host them for the camp, Hub volunteers Selebalo Molefe, Thabo Mohloboli and Mampinane Kompi for leading the hike and Life Skills sessions, Patrick Rorke for the animation workshop, and Ha Matela Youth Centre for hosting the film screening. We had a lot of fun and look forward to the next camp!
