In addition to being open for 5 days a week as a resource space, The Hub delivers a range of programs:
Since June 2020, The Hub has been delivering Covid-19 education for elders, students and teachers in Morija and Matsieng.
Kids’ Skills & Soup
100 children receive weekly nutritious meals and Covid-19 awareness sessions, Maths & Science classes, and wellness lessons.
Media Literacy Training
Since 2019 and in partnership with MiLLi*, Namibia’s leading media literacy initiative, The Hub has been delivering media literacy workshops for youth.
Access to Information
The Hub provides affordable access to computers, the internet, a library and digital media training.
Educational days featuring activities geared at providing members of The Hub with skills, motivation and inspiration.
Weekend Workshops host facilitators teaching photography, filmmaking, animation, human rights, women’s rights, environmental awareness, writing skills and more.
The Hub sponsors Nkhono ‘Mamohato Training Centre and Morija Primary School with weekly lessons and access to resources.
Tiny Gallery Concerts
The Hub provides sound and documentation to the bi-monthly event series by Morija Arts Centre.
Annual Community Cleanups combine environmental education with fun activities and litter collection.
The Hub completed four animation workshops in 2018-2019, resulting in stop motion animated short films.
Weekly programme that fosters a love of reading and writing amongst participants, and strengthens overall reading, writing and linguistic skills.
The Hub works with young musicians to write and record songs, create music videos that tackle human rights and other social-economic issues in Lesotho.
Artivism Music Events
Since, 2015, The Hub has been hosting free entry open mic music events that encourage socially conscious song writing. The events have also hosted several well known musicians.
The Hub offers sponsored memberships to outstanding students at local schools, as prizes in competitions and awards for exceptional participation.
The Hub has hosted several photography exhibitions of our members’ work in Morija, as well as had our work exhibited at Alliance Francaise de Maseru.
