Clean Up Morija 2018!

From May 5-6, 2018, The Hub hosted Maseru based NGO Africa’s Green Generation (AGG) for our second annual community clean up. Their motto is ‘Working Together to build Healthier, Greener and Cleaner communities’ emphasizing the importance of taking care of our environment as well as our bodies. We started day 1 with stretching and exercising, followed by a workshop on environmental awareness. In the afternoon we completed one clean up route around Morija. Day 2 started with another clean up route, ending at Morija Guest Houses & Tours, where Nebulart Recycling Group  gave us a demonstration on constructing with eco bricks. All litter picked up during the clean up will be used by Nebulart Recycling Group for eco brick construction.

Big thanks to Africa’s Green Generation for running such a fun and educational workshop! Many thanks also to the dedicated participants, who did a great job cleaning up the streets of Morija!  Through participation in the community clean up, 20 people earned sponsored memberships to The Hub!

The clean up was sponsored by Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa, with support from Morija Guest Houses & ToursKanGFong ?! and T-Shirt City. Many thanks also to Cafe Mojo for keeping us well fed!
