350+ Youth Trained During Africa Code Week

From October 16-20, 2018 The Hub partook in Africa Code Week 2018, in partnership with GEM Institute.  We hosted groups of learners from local schools who got to learn the basics of coding with Scratch, a game developed by MIT.

During the week, The Hub trained 353 youth with 279 of them being girls!

Africa Code Week is instilling digital literacy and coding skills in the young generation, working closely with private, public and non-profit partners to drive sustainable learning impact across Africa.

Spearheaded by SAP in 2015 as part of its social investments to drive sustainable growth in Africa, Africa Code Week is a digital skills development initiative that has benefited 1.8 million young Africans so far, with 36 participating countries in 2018.
