Working to foster a community of young people in Lesotho who are skilled, inspired, motivated and socially conscious.

The only initiative of its kind in Lesotho, The Hub is a dynamic and multifaceted youth centre in Morija, Lesotho that aims to tackle youth unemployment and limited access to education by providing essential learning resources, comprehensive nutritional and educational support, and a holistic environment for personal and professional growth.

Skills & Soup

SOCIAL CHANGE THROUGH EDUCATION

Skills & Soup promotes education and civic participation for 125 children and adolescents by providing academic, mental health and nutrition support.

The Hub is supporting 30 Skills & Soup participants with school, exam, uniform and other educational costs in 2024, with funds raised through a crowdfunding campaign.

ATI

ACCESS TO INFORMATION

By providing a library, resource space and affordable internet access to its members, The Hub seeks to correct the social and economic injustices that young people in Lesotho face, namely: poverty, high unemployment rates and limited access to technology, the internet and resources for creativity and learning.

The only initiative of its kind in Lesotho, The Hub creates opportunities to utilize information and communications technology for research and artistic expression.

ARTIVISM

ART + ACTIVISM

Through Artivism – the use of music, writing, photography, animation and film as agents of change – The Hub seeks to increase civic participation through the arts in a context of endemic corruption, low youth civic participation and gender-based violence.

We have produced short films, photography, animation and music on diverse socio-economic issues, including gender equality, climate change, youth empowerment, GBV (Gender-Based Violence), Media and Information Literacy, Covid-19, mental health, corruption and its effects on society, and more.
